About me

Welcome to my page! I’m Daniel Gatbonton, a Grade 11 student (Grad. 2026) on the honour roll and passionate about soccer. Standing at 6 feet tall and 157 lbs, with an athletic build, I’ve embraced soccer as a central part of my life, both on and off the field. Soccer and Aspirations: From the age of four, soccer has been more than just a game—it’s shaped my identity. Currently playing for FC Durham Academy as a Centre Back and Left Back, I bring strong defensive skills, athleticism, and a strategic mindset to every match. My goal is to continue growing as a player and earn a spot on a competitive university soccer team, with a long-term dream of pursuing a professional soccer career. Academics and Drive: Off the field, I excel in Health and Science, enjoying the challenge of solving complex problems. I believe that the discipline and focus I apply to my studies directly impact my performance on the field. Balancing both academics and athletics has been key to my development, and I’m committed to achieving success in both arenas. Leadership and Mentorship: As a dedicated older brother, I train regularly with my younger brother, pushing him to improve his speed, ball control, and overall fitness. This mentorship experience has helped me become a better leader and teammate, as I learn to motivate others while honing my own skills. Looking Ahead: With high school still ahead, I’m focused on maximizing my potential in both soccer and academics. I’m always ready to seize new opportunities that will help me grow and move closer to my goals. Thanks for visiting! Explore my journey in soccer and academics, and see how I’m preparing for a bright future.
